The no ‘poo method I really love

I’ve been doing no ‘poo for over a year now, experimenting with different substances to see which ones wash out my hair best. Recently I started using borax, and I LOVE it. I found a recipe that said to dissolve 1 cup of borax into a gallon of water. I fill a cup with the mixture, press it against my scalp, and move it around to get all my scalp saturated while watching the gross hair scum drip into the sink. Repeat 2-3 times. Rinse with plain water. I don’t use conditioner, no apple cider vinegar. The borax is enough. I snuck a little bit of baking soda, epsom salts and dead sea salt into my mixture, but I’m sure without it would be just as good since I used a negligible amount. I only have to wash once or twice a week.

It leaves my hair really soft and clean. My boyfriend (who doesn’t know I’m no ‘poo, or that I’m a greenie/eco/organic lover) feels my hair and tells me he loves how soft it is. He will find out someday about my odd hygiene practices, maybe I’ll break it to him when we break up. Just be like “HA! Guess what? I don’t use deodorant or shampoo! And you sucker didn’t know the entire time! I fooled you…”

If you’re doing no ‘poo and are at a standstill because you don’t like baking soda and vinegar, please try borax. No one would guess that you were no ‘poo, this stuff works really well.
